I was prepared to trash this song but, this morning when I listened more closely, I found myself drawn into counting all of the different time changes and it made the song much more interesting. I don’t find much to like here beyond the time signature changes. So for me Test ends up being around the same value for me as Presto and Roll The Bones. I like the album well enough, but for me, after a strong opening, there is just too much stuff on here that I find average, mediocre, just not entirely engaging.Ĭertainly there are some pretty decent tracks, but they never really rise above that for me.ġ - A Farewell To Kings - Hemispheres - Moving Pictures - Grace Under PressureĤ - Counterparts, Permanent Waves - Signals I am not sure that I find it particularly interesting. It moves into a key modulation of sorts, and we move on through. Roughly halfway through we get an Alex lead break, and it isn't bad, nothing special though. On the whole the music is pretty decent, but again it doesn't strike me as being a highlight. and I am not sure if it suits the message given. Then we move into a riff and the bass and drums comes in, and the feel of that chorus section seems quite light. Musically we open with some super saturated guitar, and the vocal comes in over them. On the whole I like a lot about this lyric, and its attempt to deal with the burdens we find in life, but there are a couple of awkward lines, that don't really ring true to me. I'm also not sure about the You can drive to the end of the road, but the past are right behind you. I'm not so sure about the "If You Could Just Move Yours, I Could Get Working On My Own". MM is one of my favorite Halloween songs, so that's fun that they included it. I love the intro lick, the disembodied vocals totally remind me of 2112 and that's pretty sweet, and I admit that I do love the Monster Mash quotes. This song is such a head-scratcher, because there are pretty cool sections on an individual level. from Geddy, but it's so formless that it just sounds like he's filling space. There's no real flow here, just things beside other things. I don't know how true it is, but it sounds to me like Limbo is a bunch of unused riffs just thrown together. ![]() All the while, the series itself is expanding on its own mythos and getting more and more blatantly supernatural. It’s been fascinating to watch Leanne go from the unusual stranger to a protagonist that we sympathize with. At this point, she’s basically they’re adopted daughter as any employee who acts the way she does would have been fired by now.Īt this point, there’s no length Leanne won’t go in order to protect herself, even if she isn’t certain if that force is necessary. It culminates in one of the most hilarious moments as Dorothy shouts at Leanne to go to room as if she’s their teenage daughter. Leanne ruins the event by bringing out the ceremonial dagger and attempting to expose Bev and Bobbie. At this point though, it feels like it should either all come back or the series should stop teasing the reveal, given it’s been going on 4 seasons now. We can assume this is another instance of Dorothy almost having to confront what happened with Jericho. Things get especially tense when the titular seánce kicks off and the journey into the spiritual realm involves Bobbie channeling a screaming baby that no one is coming to help. And given Dorothy’s penchant for all things new age and alternative, it wouldn’t be surprising to found out that they’re not actually licensed nurses but rather some sort of alternative medicine “experts”.ĭorothy should definitely be seeing a physical therapist if she wants to walk again. And what’s great is the way this episode toys with our knowledge that everyone in this world is strange in some way, so it’s hard to tell if Bev and Bobbie are frauds or if they just fit in here.īetween them feng shui-ing the house, their massive collection of sex toys, and their immediate suggestion to do a seánce, they’re definitely the most peculiar nurses you’ve ever seen. Given their bold and brazen attacks on her, the Turners should be more understanding of her being suspicious of anyone new (much like she was with the mommy group last season). Immediately, Leanne suspects them of being members of her former cult, and rightfully so. One of the “rules” of this series is that absolutely no one is normal… They open with a weird rhythmic recital and immediately start trying to change everything in the house and offering unsolicited advice to Sean, Leanne, and Julian about how to improve their lives. Picking up where last week left off, the live-in nurses Dorothy hired Bev and Bobbie are just as hilariously strange and eccentric as you’d expect from this series.
